The Hospital
An Introduction to the Langley Memorial HospitalIn the early 1940's all medical facilities were stretched to the limit, nearby Hospitals threatened to refuse admission to valley residents. Clearly, there was a need for action by the people of Langley.
The Langley Memorial hospital was built and opened on July 14, 1948 to serve a rual poplulation of less than eight thousand, and has grown and changed along with the community.
From a cottage hospital of thirty five beds, Langley Memorial has expanded in several different phases to the present facility of 190 acute care beds and 224 extended care beds, and offers a range of services and programs.
The Langley Memorial Hospitals focus is to provide primary and preventative care by competent and caring staff in a patient focused environment.
